Some Mid-Week Cherrypicking @ a Local Dealer's B&M

A local dealer that I have visited from time to time over the years told me a long time ago that they had a few boxes of AU/MS Mercury Dimes(my area of interest) in the back. I never really took him up on his offer to look through them until today. He did not want to bring everything out so he asked me for a list of dates...I WROTE ALLLLLLLL of them down from memory. I found it pretty easy to do after studying the series for a few years. About 10 minutes later he came back out with a small pile of coins for me to look through.
I found the 1931-D FS-101 in AU50 SCRATCHED so I got it for a really good price. I already own this Cherrypickers' variety in PCGS MS65FB but figured I just could not pass it up. I did not try to bargain with him. I just paid the price he quoted. From my estimation this is probably an R6 coin. PCGS has only graded 10 examples. The DDO looks like this...not my photo by the way.

My Photo:

I also found the 1939-D RPM-002 in AU55 that is shown in the Treasure Hunting Mercury Dimes book. It is a very nice RPM and certainly a nice example that I found. Again, a very good price. I just paid the price he quoted.

I also picked up a nice large pile 2x2s for Dimes that I needed in a bad way.

<< <i>That must have been a lot of fun to go through all those dimes! How did your eyes feel afterwards, assuming you were using a loupe? >>
I always operate with a 20x loupe....a must have for Mercury Dime Varieties. After a few hour show my eyes will quite often hurt but in this case it was only a stack of about 30 coins....he had boxes in the back but only brought out the dates I requested. Once he brought the 30 or so coins out for me to look through, I had paid for my purchases and left in less than 10 minutes.

<< <i>Edited the OP with photos I just took. Kinda stinks that the 31-D isn't problem free but I am excited that the 1939-D RPM-002 is problem free.
Win some, lose some. Still nice to cherrypick something once in a while
