Dos vadania my comrade Renski. Me want to win your challenge problem. We have passionate disagreement politicka from old country. You more communist, me more socialist like Marx. I have perfect solution for you. You and me both Bolshevik so celebrate heritage. Methinks you must have 1917 MS67R rouble from States United with venerable Lincoln on portrait. Great white man from terrible revolution like home country revolution in 1917. $12K make good 1st 20-coin box addition, even for humble Bolshevik like you!

Comrade!!! Is good time to help spend Renski's money on coins!!! jmski's idea stolen by rgCoinGuy and so I offer this help instead. run fast away from numismatic premium on coin. (unless is coin pretty with nice looking woman on front) then is okay to buy especially if no clothes
is good idea to buy special coin once in while for to admire. is good idea not to jump fast, comrade! (this way, you learn important lesson not all at one time). jmski like nice Pine Tree Shilling very much as one idea.
Is good idea to have many "golden dollars" to make special friend with border guard! he think you not so smart and laugh when you try make deal. jmski not figure out rest of story, but is good start, no?
Q: Are You Printing Money? Bernanke: Not Literally
If that was my budget, this is what I would do for my box of 20: All in PCGS and CAC if possible (higher chance of being quality coins since I'm new to collecting) 1. AU Capped Bust $5 (9000) 2. AU Princess $3 (2000) 3. MS 63 Indian $2.5 (800) 4. AU Dahlonega $5 (4000) 5. AU Draped Bust $10 (20000) 6. MS 63 1909/8 $20 (3500) 7. Mid-MS classic silver commem with color (800) 8. Proof DCAM Trade $ 62/63 (3500) 9. Morgan $ Bag toner 64/65 (300) 10. MS 67/68 Walking Liberty Half with color (1000) 11. MS 64/65 Capped Bust Half with color (10000) 12. PR67 (cam optional) Liberty Seated Quarter (5000) 13. PR66cam Barber Quarter (3000) 14. MS 67/68 Mercury dime (200) 15. PR65cam Shield Nickel (600) 16. MS 65/66 Buffalo Nickel with color (500) 17. PR65cam Liberty Nickel (700) 18. AU Draped Bust cent (2500) 19. MS 64/65 Braided Hair half cent (2500) 20. Something that I happen to find selecting the other 19 that I really just can't live without or that I already have.
A box of 20 worth $50K - $70K. We know hockey pucks won't fit that bill, nor will 4 of those 25th Anniversary sets in 70. MS 65+ CAC stickered generic Saints for simplicity's sake might work. Otherwise, find those $3,000ish keys.
I would go with 20 coins that all "have stories". For example, this one. The "featured item of the week" at numismatic news archives will give you many ideas. I think a box filled with 20 coins that have fantastic and historic stories behind them would be a really fun goal. Also, since you want to complete the set in a year, these coins are mostly available so it would be an achievable goal. It would also be a fun lesson in history and a fun set for discussion.
First, thanks to all you comrades that participated and endured comrade renski's rant.
This was a bit tougher than I thought it be. The suggestions almost made me rethink my goals...or at the very least refine them.
It is time for consolidation and I don't want to carry a 100+ pounds of platinum, gold, silver, copper and clad into our new adventure.
First the notables: I appreciate the detail put into the B-of-20 by Coinkid855, five cents, coinerww2 and crypto. I'm already heavily into a 7070 US Type so the suggestions there would be more of what I'm already doing. For some reason I noted GrumpyEd's comment of going for big US Gold. I almost went with secondrepublic's mix of moderns, Saints and classics. Bailey's WoW factor had me looking up Pine Tree's, Chains, Flowing Hair and Owl's. 2sides2acoin had me thinking of big gold again but with flash and WoW. But in the end I chose Rollsearcher's year set of Saints from 1907-1929 for a multiple of reasons. One, it's the right consolidation at this time and two, fun-factor in the hunt. That B-of-20 when completed will be a nice compliment to what I will be keeping and dragging to the 'Islands.'
Renman95 - thanks so much for the generous prize, and thanks for taking my suggestion! That's a set I've had in the back of my head for years, just waiting for the disposable income to come along to allow me to do it. Have fun putting that box of 20 together and thanks again!

I got my prize from Renman today - a beautiful Yosemite ATB puck! Just wanted to publicly thank him for his generosity and wish him luck in putting his set of Saints together.
Please help Comrade Renski with his Box of 20. He's constructed a list of 20 coins found on the OP as per "Rollsearcher's" winning suggestion. CR has added a twist by starting and ending with $20 High Reliefs. Also, he thinks he's clever by calling it a "Box of $20." He's really starting to bother me. Humor him with (constructive) criticisms and suggestions.
