NEWP: Hogmouth Thaler!

Neah, just another toned crusty AU 8 Reales from Mexico City. This time it's an 1801-FM. Picked it up on Teletrade a week or so ago in NGC AU55 holder. It's now raw and awaiting my next PCGS submission.

    Thanks, guys.

Paul, not sure about the others, but I've been also selling quite a bit over the last 3-4 weeks and can tell you the market did soften quite a bit in the last 6-8 months.

And there you had Zohar all nervous about someone else trying to buy up the Thalers.

Hmmm I was thinking of liquidating some reales.
Can you give me an example of this soft market for reales?
    Do you suggest I wait?

    Thanks Roman.

Roman - Good eye as usual. I continually like your selection of pieces with some patina and personality. This one fits well in your collection.

p.s. - I like the thread title. My mouse was drawn to it like Zohar. image

It depends on what you have and what you're looking to get for it.

Currently I see the following behavior for common dates:

    XF 40-45:
    Carlos III $175-$225
    Carlos IIII $150-175
    Ferdinand VII $150-175

    AU 50-58:
    Carlos III $450-650
    Carlos IIII $325 - $375
    Ferdinand VII $250 - $350

MS is wonky, but for common MS61-62 the price is around $600 for Carlos IIII and Ferdinand VII, about 50% higher for Carlos III.

If you price within those ranges, you should have no problem selling your coins. If you go higher, expect the pieces to sit in the inventory for a bit.

At least that's what I've been seeing recently.

Most of them are blingy white.
    But some are crusty.
I'm getting rid of all my crusties.
Let me know if your interested and I'll take some nice pics for you and let you have first picks before it hits EBay.

Nice original looking coin, interested to see what the new grade will be. The title was good for a laugh. Thanks for the pricing update.
