says in latin: Heaven's Glory - depicted planets Mercury , Venus , Earth , the moon and the sun ?

french translation: house of the wife of the dauphine 1753 , the dauphine at that time was Louis Ferdinand (son of Louis XV) , who was married with
Maria Josepha - Delphina (= married with the dauphine) the dauphine & delphina were next in line to become King & Queen of France,
but Louis Ferdinand died early at 36 years, instead their son, became King Louis XVI of France , when his grandfather Louis XV died.

Yes ,I believe your right JCM, its a french V2 rocket from 1753,
not the germans invented the V2 , but the french, this jeton proofs it.

Good info, Andres. Thanks! There's no denying that it looks like a rocketship, though. But yes, I think I read where it was depicting the alignment of stars or planets, I'll try to dig up some more info.

    Amazing rocket coin image

  • Another UFO coin thread, I love em!!! image
  • Thanks guys! Obviously the first one is a contemporary restrike, probably using the original dies. The second and third are original.

I've become fascinated with the odd and thought-provoking themes that I sometimes come across while searching jetons. These are probably the oddest I've found so far. I've found that they really are a great way to get people talking.image
