1846 Seated Dime Question

Does anyone know the value of an 1846 Seated Dime in AG3. Its in an ANACS holder. I think it has a shot at G4. Original surfaces.

Thanks!

A picture is worth a 1000 words (and a much better opinion of value) but more than prices shown in the price guides.

How does one post here? I've had no luck in trying in the past.

the obverse is a full good, the reverse is not.

I would suspect $150 is a good retail number for the coin.

Thank you. I had thought that the value wasn't very high, but the PCGS guide has a G4 up at $550 for good so I had to wonder.

I think the PCGS price guide is $85 in G4.
But I think for that date all the price guides are "out of touch".
This coin was always harder to find than the 1844 especially un-messed with.

OOPS! You're right. I was looking at the half dime prices! Thanks!

A nice problem-free 1846, even heavily circulated, will probably blow away published sheet. As mentioned, this is a considerably tougher date than 1844, but doesn't have the hoarding and the "Little Orphan Annie" hype associated with it.

It's the same ANACS AG3 coin that sold for $184 at last yr's Heritage ANA auction.

    1846 AG3

Possibly worth another 20-50% in a PCGS AG3 holder. In a PCGS G4 holder maybe $300-$400 range.

That coin is probably a g-4 by todays standards-If not it is very close--The obverse is a g-4 the reverse is the cause of the ag-3 grade.
