This 1795 Bust dollar is coming up in a local auction. Anyone know what grading company this is, if any?
I am not much of a bust dollar collector. What do you think it will bring?? image

This is the only photo available.

Thanks, Bob image

Problem is that it is not being advertised as a fake. i think that some poor soul may waste his life savings on this. Most of the rest of the coins in the auction seem legit. i may go to this auction just to see what this brings.

This one's as fake as they get.

Looks like our old friend "Star Grading Service".

You can read about them to your heart's
content by typing in "SGS" into the search
    box here.

Here's one of the threads as an example.

That thing isn't even close! Look at those dentils - they're nowhere near the right shape.

There's a reason that coin isn't in a top tier slab. Pass.

I did that one time several years ago.

I told the auctioneer that several of his gold coins were not real, (nicely I might add)and him and I were about to get into a fight. Before he threw me out of the place, I told everyone out loud about most of the items were fake. many left right behind me. In fact i herd that there were so few people even bidding after the auction started they stopped the auction. never have been back obvisouly

Hey Bob, could you provide contact info for the auction? Wouldn't mind sending a polite note
    and see what they say/do.

PS: others here could do the same.

some poor soul may waste his life savings on this <<<<< spending more than you can afford to lose on ANYTHING you know nothing about is just plain assinine.

good luck standing up and announcing that it is a fake... the mentality of the crowd will most likely be that you want to keep the bids down so you can buy it yourself. people that throw money around without knowing what they are bidding on are sooner or later going to learn the hard way. fact of life, look both ways before you cross the street, dont expect someone to jump out of nowhere to save you from being run over.

That is so fake looking it's almost a joke.
Then add the grade and it becomes a joke.
Anyone bidding on that should have to sit in the corner for a few hours.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
