78cc Vam Question, Gouge through the MM

I know theres hard core Vammers here, have any of you ran across or seen this gouge through the MM? It now lives in our Hosts slab at a 63. Could this be a new piece? Pre strike damage? You can see clearly that the MM is raised up from the gouge, I've looked at Vam World and found zero.

Either way it's cool, but very cool if you discovered a new VAM. I have not seen another one like it.
Not uncommon as wood was the heat source for the steam to run the presses.
Everything was run on wood as the fuel source.

PS: Nice coin and I think the strike through brought it down a point.

I definitley think the strike thrus are mostly wood. I was told that planchets used to be dried with sawdust, and every once in a while, a piece would stick. I'm sure you've heard that already, though! Here's mine. A close-up look reveals what appear to be grains from the wood chip. I can't seem to find the closer shot I took though...
