xf 45. Sorry. There's too much noise on this one I'd guess to be AU

OK, so I have some time today to be slightly confrontational....lets try to figure this out together here now shall we?

As I see it besides the scalp/hair and all you have an almost worn down bow, lapel and front cloth flows...you got no luster at all ..no AU surfaces.. obverse luster moment is from flash..(great picture btw!!) ..and that's not even going to the reverse side as I see even the pooch had a rough day.

My stupid eyes see a circulated piece here, and I'm not trying to give Bidask a hard time but if this was indeed or gets into an AU holder...do you guys really see AU55 here... as the majority posted?

Well I thought the picture picks up the surfaces
pretty well ......tell us why you don't think the surfaces don't look
original and if you thought the picture is great I was surprised
you thought no luster....the strike....well I am not to familiar
    with these to comment...

My assumption of an AU comes from the fact that I'm used to a certain way Bidask does photos that wash over the surface highlighting details and not always the underlying luster. Combined with a weak strike on the shield, i took the lack of detail on the portrait to be due to a weak strike.

Not sure what is going on with the reverse, but it appears that it was struck that way. Looks weakly struck in the center of the obverse, but it had some nice lustre and not much actual wear. AU55 is my guess.

You received a favorable grade. Very nicely done!! I wouldn't have given it an AU, but then I think I'm terribly rigid in my assessment.
I just don't see the AU, but then, I'm not hired to grade coins...and rightfully so it appears. LOLimage

In the slab, it looks like a much better quality image AU 53 now looks OK.

Agreed though how can this piece be graded AU53 alludes me.

The holder picture DOES have a better overall look!!

Bid has this been recently graded or years ago?

The industry is beginning to suck - sorry I'm just getting discouraged !

When Bidask goes to sell this newp he will get 45 money - and probably paid AU53 bucks!

Sorry if I irked anyone - I really do not mean to - promise!

IMO, the grade is quite appropriate and was my blind guess. This coin is softly struck in many areas and has luster over much of the surface. It does have handling/stacking marks which drop its grade but I see very little in the way of actual wear.

    It was graded early 2011..

Actually its a rare coin if you believe in the pops of NGC and PCGS

I bought it raw so I paid a very fair price....less than 53.

And when I go to sell it will I will ask greater than Krause XF 45......oh maybe by 10-20%....image

    45

Edit: I posted that before scrolling down to see the revealed grade.

I guess those who said "weakly-struck AU" were right. I wondered about that.

Spectacular coin! Eye appeal is off the charts. AU seems fair to me. Weak strike, honest wear or both? Do you do your own pics?
