S.E.G.S. just Certified my 1961-D Jefferson with a (5545) Stepcount!

Hello to all on Collectors Universe! I'd like to find Jefferson experts/specialists, that could tell me alot more from what I'm finding on the world wide web?
Not having much luck, finding anything about these difficult dates in this Jefferson Series with Segs giving almost a full step. I had a Anacs MS64 Jefferson for a good (3) years, I bid/paid $10.00 for it, on ebay, after seeing just how nice this was in this year, but also I just couldn't believe those steps, they looked all the way across! Well, I was surprized to actually win this bid. I decided to send it in to S.E.G.S. last month, in hopes I'd get a good step count,,,,Well, I called and the lady there told me the graders gave it a ( 5-5-4-5 ) . I'm just curious how many more collectors may of found some like this (?) Any information on this, I'd be grateful'. Also' does anyone know where I can get information on Jefferson nickels from Coinworld/ or any other magazines ? I've got Bernards Nagengast book, (falling apart) from all the reading / plus the Buffalo an Jeff-by David Bowers, (these are Awesome People putting books together like this).
I'd like to know if there's any latest ones out there yet. Your most welcome to visit my NGC Registry in the 1938 to date MS-Catagory/I've described each coin and added wallpaper to them as well, check out my Journals. Just look for Jims Jefferson Collection, drop me a line, I'd love to hear from you!

1961-D is obviously a toughie in the Jefferosn Series. Finding an example with high step count/details is pretty rare. While there are a bunch of us avid Jefferson Collectors, there are only a few of us that really appreciate owning an example that is not quite a full stepper. I'm one of them and paid a nice premium for mine. Also, part of the equation for this coin is condition, strike quality, bag marks and hits go along with the step count. Even with this tough date, if it is ungly and has nice steps, hope you did not pay much for it.
I'm personally not a SEGS guy for this type of "almost" full step designation. Your personal opinion on steps and a great picture is all you need!
Hello Mike! Nice hearing from ya'! I hope things are going find with you. I finally got my 1961-D Jeff back from Segs yesterday, its' a beauty- Once
I figure out how to send a photo on here, I'll put it up. I tried sending before , kept telling about a subscription, not sure what thats all about. I just wanted to
paste a few of my Segs difficult dates on here. I even cropped it down abit' to stay under the (50k they required) in order to send it thru,,,,It still didn't work (?)
anyways' nice hearing from you, I noticed pcgs only had (2) where Ngc didn't have any in certification also. I'm not sure just how many other collectors may
have something like this, it'd be interesting to find out, What quality of a Strike, an' what step count they have also. I'll keep trying to figure it all out, you'd
think they'd make it easier, wouldn't you? Ok' you take care my friend, an- write again, when you feel like it. I always like to get the latest from avid Jefferson
Collectors, thoughts on these Jeffersons. This Series has nothing but been a great collecting venture/challenge. Jim Berline

good morning BigDowgie, That would be great! I'd appeciate your help on it! Jim/
I bought this 3-4 yrs ago on ebay, won this for around $10 to $15 / I decided to send it on in to SEGS , to get a Step count on it,
came back 3356 ,,,,not to bad, I guess... I'd like to figure out how to post a photo on here? I have about a half dozen of these thru
SEGS , that were very close to the 5 full-step mark. I'd like to show these off,,,,These are just awesome looking, and I know Jeff-
collectors like you, would most certainly like seeing them. anyways' I'll go see how to post,,,,lol' . Jim Berline NGC Registry/

How are you doing with the pictures? Adding pictures to your posts is the least of your technical worries. Taking good pictures is the biggie!
Keep on truckin'!
Mike
Lol',,,,, I think I've finally figured all this out,,,,,
As you can see,,,, The Steps are there, very little in the way of interuptions thru the step area, with this yr!
I'm curious' as to just how many are there like there,,,out there right now? I've also posted a Set (half-doz) of other elusive rarities,,,
I know' It'd cost fortune trying to get any in complete full steps. Came as close as I could with it,,,,without breaking the bank.
