Even in a Genuine holder, this Hawaiian $1 is beautiful!

"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. No Way Out: Stimulus and Money Printing Are the Only Path Left
RIP Mom- 1932-2012
<< <i>OK, I'll bite. Why did it not grade? The toning looks NT to me. >>
Scratched? I assume that's a scratch.

Ex: Edward Scissorhands collection
Great colors and still a treasure for sure despite the scratch.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
It came from a collection formed in the 1950s that was contained in an old "Dollars of the World" folder along with an Auto Dollar and a bunch of other world crowns. Most of the other stuff was low grade and not of much consequence, but this thing is absolutely magnificent.
The toning is 100% real, imbued by decades in that folder. The scratch is the reason for the no grade.
The person who built the collection was the grandfather of someone I went to school with until 5th grade -- who remembered I collected coins way back when.
Betts medals, colonial coins, US Mint medals, foreign coins found in early America, and other numismatic Americana
<< <i>Incredible coin and the scratch seems trivial when balanced against the rest of the piece. >>
Also, knowing how those scratches were obtained and why.
20c pieces used to have these too... they were used when the tip of a cigar was cut.

+1000 ... The obverse is truly spectacular regardless of the holder!
<< <i>WOW - you win, Stefanie.
Stefanie scores. Broadstruck's got great follow-up.
Thanks Pistareen & Braddick, for the real historical perspective.
But mostly thanks Lakesammman. You share some great pieces.
This place is funny and educational.
