New CPG Varieties: When/If will they be added to the PCGS Set Registry...and which ones?

The title pretty much says it all but I was wondering if a PCGS Employee might chime in here to give us the real deal....or if anyone has talked to someone and already knows the real deal etc.

I'm focused on the Mercury Dime Varieties these days and the new Cherrypickers' Guide added the following four:
1934-D FS-501 RPM-001
I don't have it yet but sure do look forward to finding one...especially in MS FB.

1940-S FS-901 Coneca DDO-002/DDR-001 and Wexler WDDO-001/WDDR-001
I have this one in ANACS MS66 so it is a likely early candidate for Top Pop....at least initially. Waiting to send it in to PCGS for it to be added to the set.

1942-S FS-501 Inverted Mintmark
Sadly, I do not have this one either.

1945 FS-901 DDO, Coneca DDO-002
Sadly, I do not have this one either.

You can get the new FS#s on the slabs already.

As for when they will get added to the Variety sets, I don't know, but it's just a matter of time.

I had sent a general inquiry to Customer Service about when they will start attributing them a few weeks ago and received this response from Bailey Varness:

<< <i>At this time, we do not know which new varieties we will be attributing from the new Cherrypicker’s Guide. If you request a variety that we do not yet recognize, you will not be charged a variety fee. >>

To which I replied:

Thank you for your response.

Are you able to give an estimated date of when these decisions will be made? I have a few of the newly included coins that I hope to submit soon, but without the proper variety attribution, these coins may not warrant grading. As a result your “Submit and see” advice isn’t really very helpful to me.

I understand if it’s not possible to give an estimate, but was hoping to submit a few rather soon.

To which I received this response:

<< <i>Unfortunately, I do not have an estimate for you. Our graders are saying late February, early March, but that is the most information I have at this time. >>

Thanks ModCrewman. I had heard from someone else that February might be when it happens...so I guess the Feb/March time frame would be a good guess. Sure would be nice to have a PCGS person respond to this thread with a more defined time line.

Here is the first case I have seen of a new CPG variety in a PCGS holder.

It is an Ike FEV on Ebay now.

The seller identifies this as a FS801 but it is an FS-901. Condition is MS 66.

I emailed Mike Faraone and ask this question. He replied that he would probably have the new FS numbers to BJ by mid February. Then it would take her some time to get them in the sets.

Since PCGS has not replied to this thread, they have either not seen it or are not willing to stick their neck out there and name a DATE, which I guess I can understand. They will likely announce it after/when they do it...that's my guess. It will be a good sized project for them. I'm looking forward to seeing what their decisions are on the different coins.

I would hope the add them all...except maybe the 1945 DDO. It doesn't look very doubled to me.
