My current coin collecting interests are: (1) British coins 1838-1970 in XF-AU-UNC, (2) silver type coins in XF-AU with that classic medium gray coloration and exceptional eye appeal.
Just received this one from David Weygant today. It's from Dick Osburn's collection. The 1852-P is a "key date" in the circulated grades, though it is somewhat available in BU condition. I suppose it's the opposite of a "condition rarity." NGC 63. This is one of only a handful of NGC coins in my collection.
Hey, littlebear- is that a Seated coin by virtue of the eagle being seated on a branch and some arrows, or what?
Maybe my favorite Seated coin is this one.
It was an upgrade to the 1861 in my dime love token set, so there's that. It's not my "finest" love token, and the obverse of the host coin leaves some things to be desired, but it has all THREE of my initials... in sequence. So I got to upgrade my 1861 to a pictorial, got a piece with my name all over it, so to speak, and bought it with eBay Bucks so the price wasn't awful. Furthermore, I live in the coastal GA Marshes of Glynn, so the scene on it looks remarkably similar to a scene you'd see around here, and the crazy thing is, on the day I bought that, I was driving the causeway through the marsh on my way out to work on St. Simons Island, and a freakin' stork flew right in front of my truck, practically past my windshield!
So if that ain't numismatic destiny, I don't know what is.
Believe me, when I saw it on eBay I couldn't pull that BIN trigger fast enough.
I only bring this one out for special threads like this one. Fully prooflike, with frosted devices. I consider it unique. It is the first '44-O to make 64 at PCGS, with none finer at the time (circa 1999).

Any pics of that moster quarter yet? Would love to see it.
Here is Todd's pic of the arrows and rays. I think he has captured it better than the previous picture.

Still looking for a quarter and half dime that I like. I just got into the seated series and have been wondering what took me so long.
