PCGS price guide question - 1916 SLQ

I notice that the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter full head price listing is no longer available on the PCGS price guide. Perhaps there's something wrong on my end and I'm not able to view it.

I don't see it either. In uncirculated grades, does it really matter if full head or not? It is pricey either way, no? I do not know the series all that well, although I do have a partial set only missing seven coins. My set is an AU-ish set in a Dansco.

The 1916 FH listing has always been there, so I don't understand why it would be eliminated now.

Has there ever been one graded?

Maybe they just decided that it was a waste of time to list it.

Sure would like to see one. image

Yes, of course there's been "one" graded.

I have a MS 63 FH. However, the spread
between a FH and a non-FH is minimal.

That's one reason for deleting the FH.
My main concern is that the 1916 is a
type unto itself and is distinctly different
from the 1917 "Type One" .

The FH's of 1916 barely qualify for their
full head status, IMHO. Most FH 1916's do
not have anywhere near the detail that should
otherwise be classified as a FH. Mine included.

There is an MS66FH image in the Long Beach auction. Any thoughts on whether that is a full head?

I'm sure this is an oversight or software glitch, I don't see them deleting the designation for one date.

Yes, that was my thought as well.
If the designation were intentionally removed, another question comes to mind; where does that leave the PCGS 1916 FH quarters that already exist?
"FH" has always been printed on the label, and depending on the grade, a significantly higher price was paid for that distinction.
  • It is an error. There is still FH pricing, and there is a large difference between the 1916 FH and non-FH values (look at other dates). But I do agree, FH strikes are weak, and (almost) can't be justified as a full head.

I agree; it must be an error. Why would the designation magically disappear without any explanation?
