PCGS Populations no longer available on Heritage?

In their chart below the PCGS Price Guide, under PCGS Populations it now just says "Not available from PCGS". When did this happen and why?

  • I have no idea, but I'm sure PCGS wants to charge for that info instead of giving it way. I'm sure people will be more incline to buy it if they know they can't find it through other avenues.

It is available for active listings, not past listings in the archive. PCGS has decided to no longer give this information away, and I cannot blame them for doing so.

Beginning of the year, and only for past auctions. I believe they are still there for current auctions.

Not privy to the details, but probably money. Either PCGS wanted to charge more, Heritage wanted to pay less, or PCGS wanted to add value to their coinfacts property by having it only available there.

I wonder if those PCGS members who pay for the price lists can somehow have the pop info released by PCGS to them by clicking on a PCGS link. Perhaps that might be more work for Heritage but it is possible?

With all the cracking going on it has to be taken with a grain of salt any more anyway.
