  XF45 is a great grade for early dimes such as seated and bust. Not sure I understand the thread?

  I'll respond, but I like to list coins that I actually own or have at least been able to find. Given that EF45 is a specific grade and not a grade range it is tough for me to match your criteria (under $1,000, blue chip issue, EF45 grade). Given the specificity of the question, I own none that match your criteria though I own a pair of EF45 coins and a VF30 and an EF45 that come close to your parameters.

  One could say, "I love my 1919-D quarter because..."
  Or, "just lucked into a sweet 1852-O half with the look..."

  I paid slightly over $1k each for my 1919D and S walkers in PCGS 45 holders. There is a big jump to AU50, and frankly both my coins look better than some of the
  AU50's I've seen in the market for 2X the price.

  I really like 45's. If your lucky you can really have an AU coin out of it or close enough. Price increase to an AU in Bust Quarters sure does jump several hundred dollars.
  You can get a 1825 in XF45 for around $1700 bucks. I have seen AU's in the 2300-2700 dollar range. For just a 50-53 coin. Of coarse one dealer has an XF45 1825 for over 4k which for the life of me I can't figure out. You would think that the prices are relative, but not so. There are certain grades in certain series in which you can really get more for your buck.
  At least it seems that way to me. Try VF30 in bust dime, you can find some good deals on that grade I have noticed.

  Good idea for the thread. I understand it completely. How about these?
  
  1848-o half dime (way under $1000!)
  1858-O quarter (also way under $1000)
  1872-S half dollar (where are they?)
  Any XF45 Seated dollar under $1000 that is original and not one of the commonest 3-4 dates.

  1867 Lib $2.50 is my answer. Total PCGS population of 29 coins in all grades.
  
  In XF45 PCGS values the coin at $1,050 but PCGS has not yet holdered a XF45.
  
  PCGS values the 1867 at $950 in XF40. PCGS has graded two at XF40.
