What to buy solids for?

Geez. I took out an ad in the local paper for "interesting serial numbers" and I had a person call me who collected 30 years ago. This person says they were trying to put together a set of soilids with each serial number. They haven't touched their collection for years.
I might be able to buy several solids.
Can ya'll give me an idea what I should buy them for, and what I can sell them (very, very quickly) for?
I know some of you are purists and it isn't polite to talk about the cost of these notes, but look....this is how I could afford to buy some nice ones for myself, or maybe buy and hold a solid.
Any advice, or PMs (especially from dealers with checkbooks) are very welcome.

All I know is that the person I spoke with talked about educational notes, buffalos and indians, so I do feel they are on the level with me. Supposed to see the notes early next week. I quoted a "fair for me, fair for them" price over the phone and they seemed interested.
