Slab designs that allow viewing of the rim

Hi everyone,
Has there ever been any discussion on modifying slabs so that the coin's rim could be visible? Besides being able to better view the rims of slabbed coins with edge lettering, I think it would just be interesting to examine the condition and design of the outer rim. I'm not sure how this would be achieved- perhaps clear windows on the sides (probably only effective for large diameter coins unless the window is instead a magnifier), or a high-quality picture strip affixed the side.

Best choice. The gasket is basically a pentaprism, similar to the one in an SLR camera viewfinder, but circular. I don't know how securely it would hold all types of coins in a holder, or if silicone or neoprene can be made clear enough to work effectively, but it sure beats fangs.

This would be a great idea and worth the extra money for coins like Saints and bust halves if PCGS created a special slab with this feature.
