1853-O Arrows and Rays Half Double die or mechanical?
or is an inside abraided die?
Hopefully I can get some bigger pictures.
What is up with the stars? Miss Liberty is almost fully outlined, the date has doubling and the right arrow appears tobe doubled. There is a little bar that sticks out from the backside of the 1. On the reverse almost everything looks like the metal was squeezing out from under the die when it was pressed. There also appears to be a couple of split serifs, but that could just be a fluke considering how the rest looks.
I did read somplace about abraided dies, it sounds like this could be it, but I dont have comparision pictures.
Still a little new to the seated coins, I dont know much about different varieties, so any info would be great.
Thanks
Gary
