It looks like her browned silouette rotated 15 degrees.
There's got to be a logical explanation for this phenomena.
Other than that, it is beyond Mfugly!!

Not sure if that is starfish toning or paintball toning.

Any chance it is better in hand and color is not captured in the picture?

Any bets that the toning developed after the coin was already slabbed? Could it be a dipped coin that was poorly rinsed?

  • If you look carefully at the slab..it appears to be cracked....the photo also appears to be touched up...??

Someone must've tried to remove a few bag marks years ago. Probably looked fine when graded but has deteriorated into this crap since.

Coins like this can sometimes be the best steals if the coin is technically nice but hindered by ugly toning.

Personally, I would be hesitant to give that "slab" any credibility since the whiteness of the sinic seal pegs makes them look like the slab has been compromised.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I'm thinking something was done to the coin way back before it was slabbed, and it's been toning the metal since.

These type of coins scare the young and old alike, & could lead them away from collecting.

I wonder if some substance was put on the cheek to make it look better than it was and has since turned. Even if that was not the case, I bet PCGS would like a do over on that one.
