It's from a large group of Comspec cards that was given to someone, and that someone made it available to me. I'm so excited about this one, a tough, tough card to say the least!

Sorry, I mean the actual Comspec set. Where was it issued/came from?

    Found this on another site...

"The very scarce, 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" cards in this specialty release, produced by a California manufacturer for just a single season, depict a worthy selection of the game's top stars from the period. Although the Comspec cards are so tough to find that they're seldom offered, their illustrations will no doubt be familiar to many collectors—in most cases, the pictures are the same ones that were used in the 1972/73 Topps set!"

    Nice looking card!

    This is the Beckett summary:

This 36-card set is printed on thin card stock, and each card measures approximately 2 1/14" by 3 1/2". The fronts display posed color player photos bordered in white. The photos have different colored backgrounds (blue, green, orange, pink, red, or yellow). The only card that contains a genuine action shot from a game is that of Chet Walker. The team name, player's name, and his position appear in the white border beneath each picture. The horizontally oriented backs have biography and career statistics. The cards are unnumbered and checklisted below in alphabetical order.

    Complete set price: $2200-$2800
    Pete Maravich: $250-$500

Here's a link to a PSA 5 Maravich that sold recently on ebay for $2,025.00. The one I got is probably in the PSA 2-3 range. I think I got a fair deal on mine at $350.00.

I would also be interested in purchasing Maravich PSA graded cards, thinking about rebuilding my registry set. Let me know what you have. thanks.
