Good evening, all: My wife pulled this from her change and asked me if it was anything special. I don't think I've ever seen a more dog-tired specimen of clad coinage in my life.

Nope. It would grade damaged (but it would get 1 point)

  • Looks more scraped than worn, unfortunately.
Let's try not to get upset.

    ED
(environmental damage...not the "other" ED image )

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    Reeding all worn smooth?

It's embarrassing not being sure but I believe that is a '73 rather than a '75. The best diagnostic
is the top of the Y in LIBERTY I think.

I believe this coin was corroded first and then got extensive wear. The wear looks pretty good to
me but it's so extreme that I have to suspect it was "encouraged" like being carried as a pocket
piece. Finally is was beaten lightly and scraped before a little more wear.

I'd guess it was a "lucky dime" which the recipient noticed because of the corrosion and was spent
accidently ten or twelve years ago. It had a hard life after being spent.

    D'oh. It's definitely a '73-D.

Look at the distance from the upper part of the 3 from the top of the 7.

Thank you for the date correction, Cladking!

Ambro51, the reeding exists but barely so.
