And from Mr. Sego? Who knew? I always thought of him as a modern guy. Guess I'll have to take a closer look at his case at FUN.
Thanks for sharing, and congrats on the set.
One question... Do you intend on going for the gold?
Going for the gold: Yes, but.... the gold set has many very tough coins I cannot realistically put that much money into. There are a whopping 19 gold coins that year. I have 8 of them now. The 1859-C & D dollars, the 1859-D quarter eagle, the 1859-O & S eagles, and the 1859-O double eagle all have mintages below 10,000, many below 5,000. Many more are below 50,000.

Images: Guilty of not having good images of the set. Here is the 1859 $5 Gold, AU55. I have a true view image as it is included in PCGS's condition census. This is also a tough coin with a mintage of just under 17,000.
Apheresis: I have given more recently than my footer states. My footer is broken and cannot be updated. Presently I am on a 1-year haitus due to forgeign travel...... I did make sure to give platelets a week before the travel at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
JMS Coins. Lots of moderns but much else too....JMS Coins
Congrats.
Mike
And the 59-0 quarter in XF is a neat coin as well.
