2011 S & 2011 RP ASE

Just a thought. There is a maximum mintage of 100,000 2011 S and 2011 RP ASE's. I know that ebay and all the BSTs are still loaded right now with available ones to buy. But people have to want/need these for their collections. I know that there has to be more than 100,000 collectors that need these for their sets of ASEs. Won't these coins soon dry up and they won't be as available any more? The value has to go up a bit later down the road right?

Nobody really knows for sure. I think they should go up but not in short term. Currently definitely not as everyone's funding is going towards Christmas presents and the #1 desired item(s) right now are electronic gadgets.

There better be MUCH fewer than 100,000 individuals who "need" one of these. I have ~20 each of the RP & S in PCGS 70 and don't plan on selling anytime soon--no matter the price. I also know of dozens of people who have many more than I have and they aren't selling either. I don't think these two will EVER be cheaper than they were last week.

EDITED: With the 95-W, a collector could just write it off as untouchable and a hole in the set...they can't do that with these.

With a world population of 7 billion people, 1/3 of the world is connected through the internet, 20-25k seems a little low...

I think the 2 reverse proofs are an odd-ball that don't really fit into anyone's set. As for the 2011-S coin, it may be treated like the "W" mintmarked coins and not included in individual sets. Last I checked, the Dansco albums didn't include slots for the "W" coins.

This is not correct, the Dansco album that has ports for PROOF SAEs also has spots for the W bullion coins, even the 2009W (oops).

I don't know. I bet there are 100,000 people collecting these. I could be wrong though.

Supply and demand. Even if there are more than 100k+ collectors, all of those people are not watching ebay, and people are still unloading sets at a small profit to pay back their credit cards at a faster rate than there are people buying. It's still a weak hands game there. Personally, I think these prices are still solid considering where we are in the process of things and it looks like we're starting to level off.

My contention is that the two keys from these sets are nice bottlenecks in this modern silver dollar series--one of the few moderns coin series that people actually want to collect. I think the price will go up but who knows.

Has Dan Carr made a 09 W to fill that Dansco hole? EDIT: you beat me to it!

Question should be is how many of the collectors care if it is a 70 or 69. And then how many of each are there?
