Conviction for receiving stolen goods

As many of you know, I was the victim of a robbery in 2009. On Monday, 12/19, a guilty plea was received in Federal court in NY. Consequently, the PNG has issued the following press release:

My continuing appreciation to everyone that was involved in achieving this.
PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows.
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

    Wow! If I'm not mistaken, that's the same Ken Starrett that used to run a coin shop in Palatine, IL, in the early 90s. Gotta love a happy ending to this story.

    I will have to make Kenny buy me lunch the next time i see him. I hope that the thieves do major time.

    If ive read this correctly the thief isn't involved as yet , sure hope that changes.

    To the best of my knowledge, the thieves have not been apprehended and I do not believe that they have been identified.

    I read too quickly. So Kenny gets all of the money just for the fence? Now there is no reward for info leading to the thieves? That does not seem right.

    I mean, whats a thief without his/her fence?
    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    It's extremely strange really , i don't know what the penelty for reset of stolen goods are but ive the feeling it's not much more than a slap on the wrist.Not a lot of incentive to give up the name of the supplier of said stolen goods.

    If a person is pleading guilty, as the article states.....and the thieves can't be I.D'd..........why is that?

    Is it possible that the ring of thieves can exert pressure inside of prison? And the party pleading guilty knows it best to shut up?

    My hunch is that these thieves are part of a much bigger organization.

    AND I'm very happy for Julian that this matter is moving in the right direction.

    I thought that Ken pretty much lived in NJ all his life. I've talked to him many times about growing up and living in North Jersey. I know he lives in NJ today.

    Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he lived in IL during the 90s. He's a nice guy either way.
