Is this an Ike error or a hammer job?

Found this one searching last night. As always, thanks ahead of time.

I am certainly not an expert on these, but the closeup image makes the defect look like it happened in a single action. Also, the curvature of the cut seems to match the curvature of the rest of the rim, so I'm guessing it looks like a genuine mint-produced defect.

It's a Peter, Paul, and Mary coin.

Ditto---someone smacked it with a hammer.

The key I believe is the reeding on the damaged part. Reeding like that can only occur from a normal business strike, normally seated in the collar.

Additionally, a piece sticking out of the side of the planchet like that would have certainly caused the planchet to not seat in the collar thereby causing an out of collar broadstrike . The 2 and the rim would have also bled into the gap.

    Interesting counterfeit error though.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
