If I read this email correctly, the Battle Born collection (complete 111 piece Carson City set, incl. Eliasberg 73-CC NA 10c) is up for sale in August - anyone have further info?

Received the same email, no idea which collection, but should be of great interest to fans of CC coinage.

No further info, but I do wish he'd donate that dime to the NV State Museum to complete their collection.
I know it is a dear coin. Just like to wish.

Yes, the entire 111 piece set will be auctioned in August during the ANA Convention in Philadelphia. I just wrote an article that focuses upon the 1876-CC Half Eagle in this set, which is of great importance:

Stacks is handing out a nice 4 (or is it 6?) page (8.5 x 11) brochure with a description of the rarities in the Battle Born collection. The brochure also has a reasonably good photo of all 111 coins in the collection.

The “Battle Born Collection” has now sold. It was a very exciting event. I have thought a lot about this collection and the results of the auction.
