Apple Co-founder now coin dealer

I dont think I ever saw commentary on this but I'm curious if anyone has ever run into Ronald Wayne in CA as a coin dealer?

I was reading this article (Apple Co-Founder walked away from company) and saw a note about him now being a stamp and coin dealer...

"Mr Wayne, 75, relinquished a stake that would now be worth around £15 billion and lives on a state pension and deals in old stamps and coins to supplement his income."

Yeah, I seem to recall he sold that stake for about $800 (I don't recall the exact amount, but it wasn't much!), but this was so long ago, it may have seemed like a reasonable deal at the time.

He also used to act as the deciding vote when Woz and Jobs couldn't agree on things.

Okay, so I reads the article and see it was $1500. I was close.

His buyout at the time was 800. He was later given another 1500 when Apple Incorporated, for a total of $2300.

Is this the same apple co founder that's involved with the first ever privately owned space flight capable aircraft ?

My mistake , it's a Microsoft co founder

It says Jobs is worth £3 billion at the time of the article. And that is the path he reached with a 45% stake. Wayne's 10% stake would be worth £15 billion today, assuming he never did a thing but sit on the stake. This means Jobs 45% stake should be worth 4.5 times Waynes 15billion @ £67.5 bill, Mr waybe can take comfort in knowing he only squandered away the 15 bil while Jobs is 64bil in the hole.

People seem to forget that Apple went through many years of rough times and a flat or declining stock price. It would have been tough for the best investor to have held on so long and not lose the faith.

I was an Apple investor for many years and believed in them when many didn't (like the mid-1990s). But during the go-go Internet bubble years, even I moved on to more lucrative investments. And I'm sure most others did as well.

Heck, I remember buying the first gen iPod as a birthday gift in November 2001. At the time, nobody thought it was anything other than an overpriced toy. Certainly not anything revolutionary. This Apple "aura" we see now didn't appear until much later.
