1944-P War Nickel Clipped or PMD? Pics!

Just found this in a batch of war nickels I bought. Is it a real clip or PMD? I'm not going to say what I think until I hear an opinion or two from the experts.

Real---you can see the Blakesley effect.

    Yep, as above posts note,
    it's a genuine clip.

First 2 are with my Fuji 12mp Point and shoot. The last one is taken with the microscope we're talking about in the other thread.

I thought it was too. Thanks guys for the replies. Next question, since I'm not an error guy, is there much value to this coin?

Very much genuine, worth in the neighborhood of $8-10, maybe a little less due to condition. Not exactly rare but neat, and you already know I like it. image

Thanks Sean. I love finding neat things like this. Even though it may not be worth much, it's a nice addition to the keeper odds & ends box image

What a coincidence! I found one of these (a couple grades higher) in a small lot of odds and ends a couple weeks ago. It was the first war nickel clip I'd seen in hand, and I was wondering how common they are but hadn't gotten around to asking the Forum.

I guess it wasn't uncommon for these to circulate quite a bit without being noticed and pulled as curiosities/collectibles.

That's cool Mercfan! I'd never seen one either and I'm quite happy to add it to my modest collection image
