I really love the "look" this one has:

Nice example and shows honest wear from being commerce used!

I need just that type of coin for my set.
Exceptional coin VF35- possibly 30 on a very bad, bad day

My first thought was VF-35.
It is also one I need to upgrade in my registry.
Nice coin
Love your coin.

Maybe I should start a grading set of 16-D's.
<< <i>Very nice! Aren't you the guy with a grading set of these!
Yep, that's me... and with a whole bunch of duplicates.
Thanks

I've never collected Morgans before- they've always sort of been "widgets" to me, but I've been thinking of doing a VF-XF-ish Morgan set in one of those Dansco "one per year" date set albums, with just that sort of look. I likely won't ever have an 1895-S, though.
Like the F-VF Walker album I just embarked on, I figure it would be a fun way to tuck aside a little bullion, since the common stuff could be had pretty near melt, probably. Of course even in a "one per year" set, ANY 1895 is tough stuff!
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

25 for this coin that is the subject of this thread is highly unlikely- it truly is better than that. Let us know if it gets submitted-

Like them dollars. I am working on the date set in rattlers and so far in the 5 years I have not seen a 1895 rattler for sale.
1892 rattler yes
1893-S rattler Yes
1894 or 1895 NO Rattlers
These are the 4 dates I need in a rattler holder.

<< <i>Probably cleaned a long time ago, but I like the look of that one. I'd guess it was a VF-30, possibly 35. >>
Agreed....and I'm in the 30 camp. Nice!

<< <i>Another one for the day hoard?
Nope. I sent it back on Monday. The coin that arrived in the mail was the same one in the seller's pictures (which were posted in this thread), but in hand it was significantly lighter in color and had less original surfaces. The darkening of the photos also obscured what I immediately felt was a gentle cleaning.
