How do I get that hour of my life back, that show was terrible. Nice touch having Greg Rohan answer the phones though!

Looked too staged. Rohan is had to be so dramatic.

Those two rednecks w/the Ty Cobb checks didn't deserve to have the reserve hit. Why did heritage start the bidding at $50G (the reserve was $90,000.00)? What was that about????

It was lame and only 1 piece of currency and no coins.

It was ho-hum. Seemed a bit staged to me.

A lot staged. Can you believe the claim of the moderator that the time frame from seeking people out to auctioning off their possessions was just ONE WEEK?

Plus, it looked to me from the camera work that the auctioneers somehow missed a cut bid from the floor before closing the Ty Cobb checkbook lot. Since auctioneers NEVER miss that I presume the producer did some excessive cutting-and-pasting of his own.

No coins. To me, the most interesting item was the autographed copy of the Warren Commission report. Not only did the Commission sign it, but so did a bunch of their otherwise-unnamed staff! I guessed it would go for $17K and it hammered at $16K.

Just finished watching it. Obviously staged, as all reality shows, and a number of familiar faces in the audience.

The note was interesting. Did anyone else notice that the close-up of the note in the PCGS holder lacked the PCGS logo but that the logo was visible on the holder on stage?

I did notice I couldn't tell what grading service the note used.

I didn't see the episode as I was travelling last night but the point to remember is that all reality based television shows are staged to a certain degree. The regular process of life and everything else is rarely interesting enough to maintain an audience for a full hour.

Edited to say- not a very compelling account of collecting or the auction process. Just to say something positive, the Shelby was very nice and most of the selected items were interesting.
