Generic early nickels
With say a few hundred 1939-1964 nickels (war nickels removed) would you says it's best to roll them and deposit in the bank or use to purchase something at the local B&M or donate to a local club? These don't really have any value over face it's just neat to come across them in change.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!
My Jefferson Nickel Collection
the nieces & nephews love to go thru when visiting, I had
started them on collecting Jeffs when I felt it might stick
with a blue whitman 9009 about half full and they had to do
the rest, Local clubs are a good idea, I've noticed the kids
really get a kick out of them, both my brothers thanked me
and told me that they enjoyed the hunt with there kids trying
to complete the 9009 Whitman.

I heard that nickels (with real nickel) will be the next "silver coinage". In that there is more than 5 cents worth of metal in them.
Some suvivalists say to hoard these, because the metal compsition will have to change to make them affordable to coin. (but what do suvivalists know!)
...........again, unsubstantiated info, but interesting...........
(Probably as exciting as pennies going from all copper in 1982).......not.......
......I collect old stuff......
I've been saving them as well. I figure it would be fun for the kids to go through if they ever develop an interest. If not, I'll echo the suggestion for the local clubs. it would be a great thing to donate to club for YNs.
