what is better for storing ungraded coins

I've been using a mixture of safe flips and air-tights, I'm just interested in what is better long term and if any one had a negative effects from any of the above mentioned storage methods. Thanks for answering my novice questions and letting me lurk about and learn.

I use airtites to store almost ALL of my purchases, and have never had an issue about coins changing color or anything else.

Airtights should be better since they are air tight. Also the coins dont move around in them so they are not subject to friction

Air Tites are better storage, but cost a good bit more per coin than flips.

Albums that show both sides are decent for most circulated coins, as are cardboard 2x2s.

Some folks also like Capital brand plastic holders.

I favored a layered defense against the moisture. Zip lock food bags, plastic food containers, and dessicants can each add a layer against the elements at relatively low cost. In some locations, heat can also cause problems.
