<< <i>Instead of paying $14 per coin + $18 for a different label = $32 per coin... I'm probably just going to send them in Secure Plus modern tier for $20 per coin and get a free high res image of each coin. The extra $6 for a great photo seems worthwhile... and I feel like I'm getting more out of it than I would get with that extra $18 per coin. >>
I would agree if it wasn't a modern release. Not really anything unique about new releases, they all pretty much look the same. Not like it has it's own personality as does a coin with age.
sure would be nice if our host would publish submission guidelines for this set at the top of this forum. From there everyone could ask their questions and get the right answer or see if their question has already been answered. PCGS could even adjust/clarify their guidelines as new questions surfaced. It would also eliminate them having to answer the same questions continuously over the phone.

For a modern issue like this, I don't think Secure+ is the way to go, for a flip (maybe for your own collection, but I don't think that will help, and may hurt, any sales down the road).
Also, there is a true cost to PCGS in having so many people calling/emailing and asking about this. It can be bothersome for their CS. It can cause confusion if any 1 thing is different from 1 person to another. It takes away time for other tasks/customers. Now that they have their FS policy set as per a paste in another thread, and all coins are eligible, if sent in sealed, along the same lines as the 2006 20th annv sets were, I think it would behoove them to post/sticky at the top of the forum here as well as post on the main CU page...
<< <i>Why does it cost more than the grading fee just to print "First Strike" on the label? >>
w/o questioning any costs involved, but shouldn't every label have this, or none of them, without asking/paying?
there shouldn't be any differences, since they were sold out in 1 day.
First Submited? >>
Because it much more than simply printing "First Strike" on the label. Its a completely different label. >>
Consider that PCGS: 1) probably inspects the shipping boxes to verify they weren't tampered with and coins substituted (though I don't doubt some people could get past this check) 2) ships back the OGP (additional shipping costs) 3) receives the submission in OGP rather than flips with your submission info on them, incurring additional labor to perform this step for you, and increasing risk of damage to your coins due to additional handling 4) must store all the OGP while your order is in process

Definitely charging for more than paper! >>
they do this already on not FS submissions. so 2 to 4 are moot. Plus isnt some of that covered in the $8 handling charge on orders ? plus the return shipping charge they recoup costs to handle, I here USPS has flat rate shipping boxes now

So is #1... all of those would be done on an order that doesn't pay the extra $450 for FS labels (on a box of 5 sets).

Thanks for the corrections, I thought there was an additional fee for non-FS submissions where you wanted the OGP returned.

So tell me, when you ship stuff out using the flat rate shipping boxes, do you NOT insure them?
As for the $8 handling charge, until folks are a position of staffing, housing, and handling a 100,000 coins a month, they really need to rethink this dollar here and a dollar there methods of cutting costs. As a submitter it would be great but then as a submitter I'm not responsible for the welfare and payroll of PCGS's employee's.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

High res images of mint releases are available on their website

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

There is which I believe is $2 per set package regardless of First Strike.
