I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector. Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
Thanks to everyone who sold their sets to me (or even went elsewhere after you gave me a chance to buy them at your asking price). When I originally posted this message, I believe prices were roughly $50-$60/set over cost here on the BST board. Whether you were enjoying Sunny CA, rainy St. Louis or even humid FLA, those were your options here on the BST board best I know, and I made sure to try to beat any offer I was made aware of in that range. The "competition" reacted... and had to DOUBLE his offer to board members overnight! "Win-win" for everyone! Prices are now at a point where I am fine with all the deals I agreed to already and I do not need any more coins at this point. But, as always, I am interested in any gold or platinum modern coins you have for sale. For that matter, let me know if you have any pattern Liberty nickels as well for my personal collection (or other cool classic coins we might discuss consigning to auction)! Please keep me in mind.

ibex66: When you wrote me yesterday, you told me you would know "tomorrow" (i.e. today) what the levels were to formulate your asking price for your sets. I never heard back from you today and assumed you were interested in knowing all the offers before selling (when you referred yesterday to "tomorrow"). Sorry for any miscommunication. I hope to have a chance to do business with you one day in the future.

I spoke with Mitchell yesterday and he was more than helpful in regards to where he stood pricewise and also asked for input from me-he went over and beyond.
course a bunch of WTH people will climb from under rocks now looking for someone to vent on.
look elsewhere-
rock on Mitchell- as long as Ive been here you have always been a standup guy, I doubt that will ever change.
Thanks guys for those comments. I am writing back because there is nothing to buy or sell on this thread.
Today was as frustrating as nearly any day I have personally spent in the coin biz in the past three to five years. Many friends, family, business associates wasted the better part of a day today unsuccessfully trying to buy a US mint product they should have easily been able to purchase in my opinion. The only question now is how to thank them for their (failed) effort in buying anything. I am totally upset by what they all had to go through. Heck, I have an 85 year old aunt who is telling me she has wrist pain now from pushing the buttons on her phone for 4 hours. If there ever was a time for a Happy Hour, this is it!!

I had my 79 year old father rushing back home after his appointment with the cardiologist in an unsuccessful effort to buy the coins. He was apologetic when he informed me that he gave up after a while and wanted to know if he could try again tomorrow. My father obviously does not understand what it is like to be a coin collector in 2011.

That's what family do for each other.... Like you said its time for Happy Hour. Why not take them out and eat and have a few drinks? Then you can still all talk about this particular experience and tell some jokes about what your going to do next time...Just my humble suggestion... Thank God Its Friday as the saying goes.
I worked w/ my co-workers for 4.5 hours yesterday to get them logged in and sets bought. They are like a family to me here, so if I can help them put a little extra scratch in their pockets right before the holidays I'm all for it. And working w/ Mitch was a pleasure.
