Another coin in a friend's inheritance, what do you think?

Nice except for the weak or nearly worn out die strike.

MS63/64. Nice coin, albeit with a weak strike!

Typical bad strike. Coin looks tremendously mark-free, though. Photos suggest it might be anything from a sweet AU58 to an MS64 than didn't make MS65 due to strike. Lots of possibilities here.

Is that a partial E tilted to the left under the eagle's 2nd and 3rd tailfeathers? It's a very rare VAM if it is.
    When in doubt, don't.

Pretty. The obvious luster caught my eye immediately, whereas I didn't notice the weak strike until the previous posters had pointed it out.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

If there are no luster breaks I'd say 63, limited by the common bad O-mint strike of that era (and by the rapid value increase over 63).

That's the first thing I looked at the the first question I was going to ask as well.

Nice coin with a typical O-mint weak strike, which I would blame on the annealing furnace rather than the die.

    Looks like a nice coin - good color - lots of luster;
I don't collect the series - so if everyone tells me
that the strike is poor - I'll have to take their word
    for it.

I'm looking for an 1891-O in PCGS 63 to go with
    the Phila one I have of 1891 [ Grandmother's birth year ].

if it is an E reverse die clash, this would be among the finest known

Thanks for the comments so far, I don't think there's a strong E under the tail as shown in the VAM web pages, but there may be a trace of a clash, I will have to get the coin back and take better pictures. There are die cracks connecting the tops of most of the letters in UNITED and STATES

Is it one of the VAMS maybe? and if so, about what is something like this worth in 62, 63, and 64?

Thanks, Morgans aren't my thing although I do have a few of them
