Did I get a good deal?

Met a local guy looking to buy a few silver dollars and he lumped in some others that I didn't know much about:

1992 American Silver Eagle
2004 American Silver Eagle
1878 S Morgan - MS63
1900 O Morgan - EF
1922 Peace - EF
1923 Peace - VG
1855 Seated Quarter - AU50
1874 Seated Dime - G
1874 Three Cent Nickel - G
Modern 1 cent error

Got the lot for $250 cash, good deal?

Great, if the seated quarter is not messed with.

The 1855 quarter appears to be a nice wholesome XF40 to me. Don't see AU from that though. Big price spread from XF to AU. Too bad no mint mark on the reverse.
Hopefully the seller grades Mint State Morgans more conservatively than circ seated quarters.

It seems to be a great deal to me. The silver alone will cover your cost. While none of the coins are even scarce, they are a good value at $250. The quarter, dime and nickel are the gravy on top IMHO. Well done

Assuming the rest of the coins are original and not cleaned, it looks like you did okay, but nothing special. I anticipate that the 78-S will be somewhat less than an MS-63 based on the stated grade of the Seated quarter.

The quarter is very nice and should grade VF35. Worth about $100 if it has nice eye appeal in hand. If the coin still has any luster left then I could see a bump to XF40 but the price is still about the same.

Worst case, you got 5 1/3 oz. of silver, which is about $225 right now, so you need a $25 premium to break even. The quarter looks like a VF+ ($100 retail), and if the 78-S Morgan is MS63, it retails at $125. Without even seeing the dollar, it looks like you did well.

Not a bad deal for $250, IMO.
