1921 Alabama 2x2 PCGS MS64

Just got it back today crossed over from NGC MS64.

My first crossover attempt was a success so I'm happy:

The holder came back pretty scuffed up, the first time this has happened to me.

Do I have any recourse?

I'd like a better grade but I think it's fair and the correct grade.

i'm sure they'd reholder it for you if you ask .... otherwise you'll need to try some scratch remover

Looks like a really nice example. Care to expand on why you think it is not deserving of MS65 or better?

As for the scuffs, I bought a bottle of plastic polish at an auto parts store that does a nice job of removing or minimizing them.

The rest of my set is in PCGS plastic and I got the NGC piece in trade for a good deal. Probably the same reason many people send in for crossing.

Nice looking MS64, multiple marks in the prime focal areas on the obverse keep this coin from MS65

Post a pic of how scratched up it is, perhaps if it gets the attention of the powers they will ask you to return it for re-entombment.

No reason something just slabbed should look anything but near perfect.

    cool coin! big image

i got a $50 AGE slabbed and it has some kinda spec of dust entombed inside the slab that shouldn't be there. at first glance, it looks like it's on the coin, but you can see at an angle it's inside the slab. i guess it happens sometimes.
