I'm beyond stunned. Mark and I had developed a kindred report over the past few years and we finally got to meet at Chicago Central States. A beautiful young man. I know he mentioned he couldn't attend the Columbus Show because he was in NY. Otherwise I would have made the trip there to hang out.....I'm numb. RIP Mark..........MJ

OMG--I am utterly shocked and numbed! How can this be true? I met Mark twice and we PM'd often.

I learned a LOT from Mark as I slowly got back into the hobby. He was always eager to help! I just can't believe that this has happened!

Prayers and condolences sent to his family!

RIP Mark....... you'll be missed by many but never forgotten! You certainly left your mark on many of us.

Oh please, bless his heart and soul dear Lord...

Mark and I would PM frequently while he was at school in Cincinnati and while he was on his internship in NYC (it always seemed to be very late at night... I always asked him when he slept). He invited me to meet with him for lunch/dinner at several coin shows in the Midwest, but my job always conflicted with these shows. image I can count the number of times tears have come to my eyes over the past decade on one hand... this is one of those times. image He always spoke fondly of his family, coin collecting, Laura Sperber, Bruce Morelan... you could really tell he loved his father dearly! If you didn't know his age, you would have never believed his was such a young man.

    RIP Speety! image

How horrible. That is very, very sad. So young, and such promise.

I always enjoyed reading his posts and admiring the seated dollar set he and his father were building. We will all miss him and his enthusiasm, I'm sure.

Very sad news indeed and so very young, my condolences to his family.
We pm'd for several years back and forth. He was so very proud of his Seated Dollar Collection.

We put the images and story behind each one Here under the Seated Dollar Section

He enjoyed getting new ones and updating the site, I feel so bad now that I was so busy I didn't have time lately to
    keep up with his collectionimage

Way too young. I remember when he announced that he was going to intern at Stacks' telling him to look up a good friend of mine there. Thought he could learn from him.

As I said in my thread last week, you know not the hour nor the day. Live your life accordingly.

Very upseting. Mark and his family have a island home across from our island and we talked catching crab and sometimes coins. A fine, outstanding young man.
    Rest in Peace Mark.

I am so very sorry to hear this, especially to one so young. I am sure his family would be glad to know he had a lot of friends here on the forum. But my heart and prayers go out to his family, this has got to be so very hard for them.

I really enjoyed Mark's PMs on collecting seated material and especially his 1870-s seated dollar. Such a shock that he's gone. Condolences to all his family and friends.

Here's a PM I received from Mark last December.......reference the Baltimore show

Haha Laura is really blunt and straight forward. Some hate it, some like it. The one thing about Laura is that you can't take anything personally. She's really busy and business takes precedence -- always, so if you stop by and she's busy, just try back later - some people feel really slighted by it when they shouldn't.

Come to think of it - one of the other coins we picked up from them is the 1876-CC twenty cent piece that is the coin that CAC uses in all of their advertisements. It's got a great even gold color but I don't have any pics of it.

    Mark

Here are a couple pics for you, there are many more that I don't have links handy at the time or my images are horribly of.:

He was as pleasant a person as I've talked to or read on the boards. I hope his family reads this and knows how much he was admired as a "brother" in numismatics. This is shocking.
