Any dealers here going to the ANA show in Pittsburgh

lunytune2 · February 23, 2011 6:20AM

Mid October .. just planning my big trip (about 10 miles)

Hmmm...the possibility of a coin show and Steelers game on the same weekend.

Raybob15239 · February 23, 2011 7:01AM

I'm not a dealer, but the show is at the convention center, just two blocks from my office (and where I have a parking lease!)

I'll blow off work on Friday and hang out over there for the day!

RichieURich · February 23, 2011 7:21AM

Definitely. Western Pennsylvania has a decent base of collectors, and we have had success there. My table is already paid for!

ColonialCoinUnion · February 23, 2011 7:29AM

Going.

NewEnglandRarities · February 23, 2011 7:36AM

We will be there

Good luck getting tickets ... Heinz Field is less than a mile from the convention center.

botanist · February 23, 2011 7:58AM

Also the fairly new Rivers Casino is about 20 minutes walking distance from the Lawrence Convention Center, and in good weather it's a lovely walk along riverside paths.

I was thinking that a good beat down of the Ravens should comfort me after getting ripped on the bourse.

tahoe98 · February 23, 2011 8:21AM

...didn't realize youns guys were pa people.

Kove · February 23, 2011 8:40AM

Going. The ANA offered a good deal on tables to get dealers to sign up for the first Pittsburgh show.

Julian · February 23, 2011 9:34AM

I plan to be there with a table.

ColonelJessup · February 23, 2011 9:39AM

She Who Shall Not Be Named has not yet let me know if her jet has steerage.

PonyExpress8 · February 23, 2011 10:28AM

I will be at all 3 this year. The Sacramento one is especially nice for me since for one time I get to sleep all week in my own bed. I might be a bit rested for a change!

But looking forward and very excited to be in Pittsburgh in the Fall.

Table #529 in Pittsburgh, looking forward to the show!

WTCG · February 23, 2011 12:31PM

It's still very early but I'm sure I'll be there.

shorecoll · February 23, 2011 12:36PM

I'll bet RYK already has his tickets. He's hoping Big Ben stays out of prison long enough for the Ravens to thump him. Oh, I forgot....Ben learned his lesson.

It's YINZ, and were Stillers fans.

RickMilauskas · February 23, 2011 2:18PM

Hope yinz all can make it. I can't wait.

The Stillers again will show the raisins how it's done.

ThePennyLady · February 23, 2011 3:06PM

I'll be there...

lunytune2 · February 24, 2011 12:10AM

Websight says over 500 dealers .. we have to have more dealers here coming !

botanist · February 24, 2011 12:53AM

Why hasn't anybody here yet mentioned the possibility that the Pittsburgh Pirates could be playing in the World Series right around the time of the ANA Convention? PNC Park where the Pirates play their home games is just down a ways and across the bridge from the Lawrence Convention Center. Heinz Field for the Steelers is a little further on down, and after that is Rivers Casino; you can easily visit all four venues on foot within a short time. And aren't the Pirates a good bet to make it into the World Series after a record 18 straight seasons below .500?

lunytune2 · February 24, 2011 1:17AM

HAAAHAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAHAAA ... WHO ARE THE PIRATES ?

PTVETTER · February 24, 2011 1:31AM

I will be there!

The ANA has been to Pittsburgh a Few times, this isn't the first time.

I have been in contact with the ANA power to be and they promise a great show. I would think our host will be ther also.

In fact some of the ANA staff may just be around at the PAN show coming this may 6-8th

mdwoods · February 24, 2011 1:35AM

I plan on coming. I was at the last ANA show in Pittsburgh. The convention center is excellent.

lunytune2 · February 24, 2011 1:51AM

I have been in contact with PCGS they will be there.

RYK · February 24, 2011 1:57AM

LOL With the Pirates, every day is April 1!
Will be great to meet so many of yinz here... looking forward to it!

tahoe98 · February 25, 2011 3:57AM

...to make it interesting, everyone should wear a name tag with their forum name on it. what say you

papabear · February 25, 2011 5:22AM

I will be there with a name tag with my forum name on it.

Papabear

tahoe98 · February 25, 2011 8:55AM

...if i can make it i'll do the same.

ram1946 · February 25, 2011 9:13AM

Hmmm...the possibility of a coin show and Steelers game on the same weekend.

Don't forget the Pens - they'll be just beginning the 2011/12 season.

WTCG · September 1, 2011 10:53AM

Does anybody have the convention group code for the Westin Convention Center Hotel?

That's the host hotel and without the group rate rooms are obscenely overpriced.

blu62vette · September 1, 2011 10:55AM

Wei-
I heard it was sold out a while ago.

Julian · September 1, 2011 11:05AM

Many; me included.

RichieURich · September 1, 2011 11:09AM

Most definitely. I will be there at Table #540 for the entire event, with a huge number of Bust and Seated coins.

If you attend the show, stop by and say hello!

coinkat · September 1, 2011 11:09AM

So there is a big show- Whitman I believe in Philly in late September followed by the ANA in Pittsburgh in October?

RYK · September 1, 2011 11:21AM

<< So there is a big show- Whitman I believe in Philly in late September followed by the ANA in Pittsburgh in October? >>

and then Baltimore in November. Three trips for Wei to the Middle Atlantic states in about a seven week period. He'll be so sick of the east coast he'll be begging for a midwest coin show.

WTCG · September 1, 2011 11:25AM

<< Wei-

Then Starpoints it'll be. There are some hotels I have no problem with paying $267/ night for but this one isn't one of them.

Don't forget that trip to Boston for the Bay State Show the week before Baltimore.

Lucky for us on the coast if we want to experience the Midwest we can do that by driving east for two hours. It's flat, hot, dusty and it's got oodles of marginal looking gals...

Just booked the room seconds ago using Starpoints. Looks like the hotel still has rooms available but they are charging the $325/ night rack rate.

MrEureka · September 1, 2011 1:41PM

I'll be there, of course.

TwoSides2aCoin · September 1, 2011 1:54PM

I'd love to be there. Sounds like a happening place.

PQpeace · September 1, 2011 2:54PM

I will be there

Larry

Mar327 · September 1, 2011 3:26PM

I'll be helping there. RYK, it isn't the Ravens, sorry. We're playing Jacksonville on the 16th, 1 pm. Penguin hockey games are home that week too, and I'm going to my first ever game Saturday night after the show.

It's coming fast now, looking forward to meeting a lot of you!

ColonialCoinUnion · September 1, 2011 10:19PM

We'll be there - really looking forward to it in fact, since I do not believe I have been to Pittsburgh since the ANA in 2004.

njcoincrank · September 1, 2011 10:32PM

Christine and I will be there manning our table the whole show. Stop by and say hello.

There's also a possibility a comet could crash into the Earth. Possible but not bloody likely!

Looking forward to Pittsburgh as I have never been there before.

Anyone going on the Casino Boat Ride [ sponsored by the ANA ] ??

FredWeinberg · September 2, 2011 12:17AM

I'll be there too.

As I recall, the 2004 Pittsburgh ANA
was pretty good, and drew a good
crowd.

Any dealers here going to the ANA show in Pittsburgh
