How Many Dealers Have Sold You Coin(s)?

For coins currently in your primary collection, how many different dealers have sold coins to you?

I have purchased coins from 23 different dealers/collectors, including 8 where I had multiple purchases. Those 8 supplied 69% of my core collection and the top 2 sources provided 39%.

Too many. I cannot just rely on one dealer for most of my NewPs, it takes looking at every dealers inventory to potentially find something "right" for my collection

Too many to count over the last 50+ years.

I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.

I would also consider "Collector's" not just "Dealer's" who have sold me a lot of their coins for my collection!

Probably 3 or 4 at the most.

I have a very specialized collection and there is a small group of dealers who a) handle what I collect, b) handle the quality that I'm looking for, and c) have earned my repeat business based on their customer service and demonstrated expertise.

    I suppose I am a collecting snob.

With my new niche of die chips cracks and other assorted variations I have 1 regular dealer i work with and a whole bunch of collectors. Alot of people (dealers) dont waste their time on what i collect. Even though there is no premium on what i collect , Cherry picking of what I collect is plentiful and makes for a good rewarding afternoon.

I'd guess about 100 different dealers, more than a few are no longer in business.

/edit to add: when I go to the Long Beach show, there are maybe five that I focus on. Maybe another five in a second tier group. Then why so many? Lots of ones and two bought over the years from dealers not on the main list, that plus mail order, Ebay, BST.

114 coins purchased lifetime to date. 97 of them came from 10 dealers, the other 17 are labelled "misc".
Based on % of value, 97.1% came from those 10 dealers.

2 real dealers, a couple eBay "so-called" dealers and the rest come from random pits of eBay.

According to very accurate records that I keep in my database, I have purchased half dimes from 442 different dealers in the past thirty years. Of course this includes many eBay dealers from whom I have purchased just one coin, but the total is 442 different dealers.
