Hi all,
I have really enjoyed this forum. It has been both instructive and informative. I sell on eBay from time to time and have appreciated the heads up on problem buyers. I think I have one to add to the list.
It is unfortunate thad eBay has made the decision that the only feedback a buyer can get is positive, regardless of how thy conduct themselves in the purchase of items on eBay. As a result, there are a lot of scammers out there. I recently "sold" (I think the better wording would be 'received a winning bid') on a 1910 PCGS PF63BN Lincoln. I was happy with the winning bid and invoiced the "winning bidder". He messaged me that it would work better for him if he could send a money order. No problem....at least I can save the paypal fees. I send him my address and ask for a postal money order only. Then nothing. I invoiced again....no answer. So I check his feedback again. It had been good and positive when he bid on my coin, then it headed WAY south! He started being called a scammer in his "positive" feedback.
I opened a case for non-payment and am about to close it. I decided to check his feedback again, because the positive feedback #'s had gone up. Now his feedback is "private" which means anyone selling cannot check his feedback to block him. I would like to give a heads up to everyone here. His feedback indicated he had purchased anything from $2 coins to $900 + coins. all with a feedback rating of only 14 or 15. His user name is newguy1891.
I have bought and sold on and off on eBay since 1998. This is really the first problem I have had. Unfortunately, as it has been said here many times, the buyer can be the biggest crook in the world and be able to hide behind "private feedback", but if you are the seller........too bad, we just want your listing fees, final value fees, paypal fees, etc and if you mess up as a seller....too bad.
Thanks for letting me vent.
