Jefferson Thrill of a Lifetime Today....

OldEastsideOldEastside Posts: 4,602 ✭✭✭✭✭
Went to my local BM guy today, chitter chatterd and asked for
stuff I knew he probably did'nt have and he did'nt but he does
like to tease me and today was no exeption, when he say's
"Oh I want you to check this out" and as he goes in the back
to get it, he says "Its not for sale, I'm keeping it, It was my
Grandfathers"

He comes out and hands me a unframed 8x12 Felix Schlag
autographed 1938 Proof Noterized Card 133/150, I'm in disbelief
and thinking to my self, this is worse, FAR worse than dangling
3 pounds of heroin in front of a strung out heroin junkie, AHHHH.

Anyhow I got to hold and admirer for about five minutes one
of the TRUE HOLY GRAILS of Jefferson collecting.

Oh and some might ask, NO I'm not gonna wash my hands for
at least a weekimage

thes used to show up sporadically at eBay or in a major auction but it's been awhile since i've seen one for sale. if i recall, they aren't terribly expensive, i seem to remember them selling for under $2k.

That sounds pretty cool, but can you explain more about "unframed 8x12 Felix Schlag
autographed 1938 Proof Noterized Card 133/150"? or pictures even? image
Heck I thought you were a ballcard guy at first with that description image

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

I have had several of these over the years, including the #1 a few years back. I currently have three of them.

I tried selling the #1 plaque years ago through my mail list for $6000. Then years later someone in the registry bought it for $11,000. One of the more interesting comments made from a collector who was pondering on buying it, he said Leo, I'm going to pass........I just can't fathom having a $6000 ornament hanging on my wall.
