Anyone remember Mike Webber?
When I lived in Laurel, Maryland from 1976 to 1981 I spent a lot of time in a coin shop initially owned by Mike Webber, called Coins of Laurel. He did the show circuit while Rusty Vanalstein ran the shop while he was away. I bought a lot of stuff from Mike over the years but lost track of him. He sold the shop around 79 or so to James Burns who was running it when I left. I did a lot of partime work in shop and always wondered what happened to the people that were there. Greg Brumfield (could have the wrong last name) worked there too. I wonder if any of them are still in the coin business. The shop was located in the Laurel Shopping Center, the same one where George Wallace was shot.
I love reliving old memories.

<< <i>Julian, I remember you coming by the shop a couple of times and also remember setting up at a show just a few tables away from you. Before the show opened I bought a G 1921-D Mercury Dime from you to finish out my set. I was always impressed by you and the coins you carried. >>
That's quite a few weeks ago!! Do you remember where the show was?

I don't remember the name of the venue but it wasn't far from Laurel. I rode with Rusty Vanalstein and it was less than a 30 minute drive. It was a Sunday only show if I remember. The shop was open 7 days a week but we only did the show on Sunday. I'm pretty sure the dime, way below your usual fare was part of a trade that you had made and wanted to get it out of inventory fast. You made my day though. We are talking about maybe 1977 or 1978.
I have always liked the 21-d dime and would love to buy it back.
