Do You Think About Coin Collecting When You Are Working Out?
![Coinosaurus](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/authoricons/1866_dime.jpg)
Mostly I think about how crappy I feel, and why the *$*&*)# did I decide to a 7-mile run instead of a 3-mile run.
And mostly about how all the runners on this forum are like ten times faster than me![image](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif)
It's too hot in Chicago to run anymore this weekend so I am going to work on my ANA exhibit instead

<< <i>When I can't fall asleep I think of First Spouse coins. >>
<< <i>Not only is it HOT in Florida, it is also STEAMY! It's like running through a nice thick soup.
NO KIDDING!!!!! PT on the beach thrice daily: 05, 12 and 17... I'll probably lose 20 pounds in the freakin Florida humidity!

I went running in Ft. Lauderdale last summer. 90 degrees & humidity to match. It was bizarre, the streets were vacant - everyone inside, even at night. I think I lost 5 lbs and drank it all back on in about 5 minutes. Whatever you can do in those conditions, multiply by about five for cold weather.
Knew a guy who played for the Dolphins - he told me that during two a days they have to take IVs in between. The conditioning of those guys is amazing - even the 300 pounders have no problem with long distance running.

I lived in Miami for 6 years, which is where I started running in 1988 (!). Of the places that I have lived, St. Louis and Washington, DC, in the summer, are far worse than Miami. I remember having a mild heat stroke on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda around rush hour one summer day. It was over 100F, and I was having the chills.

Diego Garcia and Iraq were the two hottest locations for me... Fort Meade, Langley and Wildwood, MO, were mild in comparison!

I do not know how much of a "buddy" he would be until he lost some serious weight. Yikes!
Here in Florida, during my high school days...we would run more than 100 miles per week. On Sundays we would do a 16 mile run in the hills during the summer. I did a Half Ironman in 90 Degree Heat along with extreme humidity...that was a tough day. A lot of people were pulled off that race course for medical reasons.

Just trail races now. But, nice longer ones. I usually hammer out the 25-40k ones. Dry here. Have taken some national HS teams (XC and distance track relays) to southern locales to compete and although we have the altitude, they have that humidity. Everyone has a cross to bear.
I can crank it out (my handle here), but SAS. If you don't know the acronym, just PM me. Never was a distance runner, just a competition (3-position) shooter. We only ran to lower our pulse beats. But now . . . running is cheaper than ammo.

and that's the extent of their exercise.

Larry, when you were at Diego Garcia most recently, did you take part in the scale modeling club? Our club here in NY is a "sister club" and sends kits, tools, supplies (etc) every year. I've got some supplies for the Diego Garcia Model club sitting right on the other side of my laptap, waiting for this year's annual drive to come up.

And just days ago, we bought a 2 seat KAYAK for going out in the Pacific Ocean at La Jolla and paddling with the sea lions, seas, dolphins and whatever else comes by. I can hardly wait to get out there, but the wife must go on the first trip and needs free day in order to do it. After that, any hot day I'll slap my two kids on the kayak and take it out. I am trying to talk my friends into getting one so we can go out ocean fishing.
I am actually doing the opposite of the OP's thread, that is, I am thinking about working out while I should be doing coin photographing
