When to buy silver?

Im interested in investing some money into the silver eagles but not sure when the best time to do this would be. i know the silver market is dropping since its recent jump. any information or suggestions on when to buy or when the silver spot will go back up?

There a precious metals forum that discusses stuff like this, come over and join us.

Now is a good buying opportunity if you want to dabble in it. Buy a little along and along at a steady pace and you won't get an ulcer trying to time the market or vomit on the least little downswing.

If I knew when the PM markets changed direction, I would be quite wealthy. Suggest buying a few ASE's each month and don't try to time the market.

If one bought when silver was at $48 at the end of April, then $34 seems like a good time to buy at the end of June.

If you're planning on buying some and flipping when it gets to a certain point, who knows what the best time is. However, if you're like me, who's stacking for the long term, just buy a little here and there no matter the price and start stacking it up.

If you spent $10K on silver today, and it fell to half that value tomorrow, would you be upset at your loss?

There is no such thing as "investing" in silver. Silver as part of a diversified portfolio is a hedge against inflation and may be a prudent thing to do.

If you have so much money that you can speculate by buying silver (i.e., I am buying it with the hope that it will go up in price) without feeling bad if you lost the money, then buy all the silver you can at the going price.

If you intend to base your decision on information provided in this forum, then good luck.

So the investor asked the wise old owl when he should buy silver?

The wise Old Owl said, "Why you buy silver just before it goes up in price".

The investor then says, when do I know exactly when that will happen?

Believe it or not, there is quite a bit of wisdom in all of the above posts. No one 'knows' what will happen. My personal policy is to buy some all the time regardless of the price, also known as "dollar cost averaging".

If, as some suggest, you give yourself an ulcer or vomit or can't sleep when the price drops a little (or a lot), you have too much.
