cool new Brett Butler item for my collection + a question for Mets experts

Got this in the mail today - it was advertised as an "authentic batting jersey...vintage jersey, not recently manufactured throwback".

Butler played with the Mets in '95, so I know what year it's from. My question - is this something that might have been available in the team store, or is there a chance it was only available to players? Whichever it is, I'm very pleased to have it. It'd be a bonus if it was something that might have been used.

Mets experts (or jersey experts): what are your opinions?

Congrats! I hope it's the official batting jersey, keep us posted.
  • Are there any tags inside the collar? The 40 tag on the front leads me to believe it's likely team-issued and not retail.

looks like it has never been washed/worn.....I think AIS provided the Mets with their home jerseys in 1995

    Neat item regardless

I worked at Majestic through 1993 and there ws no retail products with the size number tag sold up till then. Retail always had s,m,l,xl,xxl tags in the neck. Also when I was still there we provided all the teams with the BP jerseys.
