IMHO it's not a PQ coin that looks 65.5 plus-able and is better off just left in the OGH.

Aaaaah, that's one of those that is lucky to be graded 65. With the minor hits on the cheek and
all the neck scruffs, I'd say it's a 64. So, in my humble opinion, for whatever it's worth, no it will not upgrade.

Out of 10 submissions this would probably come back 64 at least once.

A 65 IMHO, with all the chatter on the cheek, can't see it as a 66.
The reverse is very nice, especially the breast feathers.
Looks like a SF mint piece.

Nope. 65 is max I think - this coin would have to do something incredible in hand to get a + out of me. I just don't see it. 66 never.

I do think the 88-O in 63-up is a lot scarcer than the current values imply... I just don't see them as often.

Agreed.

Judging from the 'spread' between 4 & 5, I wouldn't advise removing that one from the slab under any circumstances.

Unslabbed, it's a $35 to $40 coin, IMO. >>

I'll take all you have in that date/mm that look like that for $35.

I wish the lighting were better on the photos, but I tend to think that it's a solid 65, but no higher...

I've seen 66s that looked similar and always thought they were overgraded.

Okay, it really doesn't matter. But I really DOUBT this coin would come back a 64 if submitted ten times. I'd bet some money on that. And if that were so, there sure would be an awful lot of graded 65s really 64s on the market.

She's not MS66, and I wouldn't even grade it MS65+. I would say it is acceptable as MS65.

I would doubt 66 but it is a really nice looking Morgan Dollar, these huge pictures some times are a little misleading compared seeing a coin in hand.

It's pretty unusual for ANY coin to come back the same grade 10X in a row....unless you feel this coin would only come back 65-66 if submitted 10X. The only way for this coin to NOT
come back a 64 at least once in 10X is for it to be a very strong 65 (ie a 65+). The TPG's have their tough days and their easy days. It's unusual not to get a tough day at least once
in every 10X out. I'd love it if coins would usually come back the same grade 10X in a row. It would mean the grading problem was really solved.

Your photos are so big, they'd probably make a 66+ look baggy

My thought was that it looked fine as a 65, but the carbon spot on the reverse and the light contact marks on the obverse hold it from being a higher grade.
