Who wants to be my HERO? Coins I Need to Locate...

I am building the Complete Variety Set of Mercs and I am having trouble locating some of them in HIGH MINT STATE...preferably FB. Heck, some of them I just cannot seem to locate, regardless of grade. Holder Does Not Matter...I can cross them over or submit them raw for grading. Any connections or locating assistance is greatly appreciated(edit for the self-appointed police of the forums).

1929-S DDO FS-101
1935-S/S RPM FS-501
1939 DDO FS-101
1939-D/D RPM FS-501 ( I have seen several 39-D/D lately but they have not been FS-501 )
1941 DDO FS-101
1943-S/S RPM FS-501
1945-D RPM FS-501
1945-D RPM FS-506
1945-S RPM FS-503 ( I know where the MS-60 is...finest known...I want better if it is out there. )

Please PM me if you can help me out or point me in the right direction. It has been a couple of months since I have obtained a variety and I am feeling very sad. image

Thanks!

No thanks Winston. I did not know it had been renamed to the Buy, Sell, Trade & Location Service. I did not say I could BUY these today, Trade for these today, certainly am not selling...looking for help in the location of these things. Maybe someone knows a guy that knows aguy that knows a guy that can point me in a particular direction for some future transaction to take place. Maybe this will spur the interest in someone to go Cherrypickin' at the next show they attend?

I'm sure if my infraction was so terrible a MOD/HRH/DW will send me a PM.

Thanks so much for your contribution to this thread and keeping it high up in rotation though. image

    Sorry.

Those pieces are beyond my interests and my level of expertise. image

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Hell, since there are exceptions to some members of the forums, I suppose I'd better put my want list here too! I'll be sure to post a new thread.

P.S. This belongs on the BST. :-)

    Thanks for the bump buddy!

You do realize that a lot of threads in the Registry Section could easily be posted in the Registry, the BST and US Coin but for some reason I do not see you over there policing those forums. Why not? There are gray areas you know. Same goes for US Coins...it is quite possible that posts can fit in more than one category.

I am looking for connections that might lead me to the right places and those connections might lead to a purchase down the road but due to to the rarity of these items...IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT A BUY TRANSACTION WILL HAPPEN TODAY! More people visit US Coins than BST and since I am hoping for as many people as possible to see this thread...and since I am not buying anything today, not selling anything today, not trading for anything today....The Post is NOT going in the BST Today. Get it?

Do some people really have no life that they need to go around trying to police others when they have no authority? So so sad.

Interesting as in all my posts I've never visited the registry forum... Does this disqualify me as being your hero imageimageimage

Well, thank you for this. I laughed! Best of luck to you and your desire to be an exception.

Any intent to buy, sale, or trade, yesterday, now, or tomorrow, or even never, but even feeler posts should be posted on the BST. I could care less. It's not about authority. Do you realize how crammed the us coin forum would be with this clutter if everybody had an exception to post WANTED posts on the improper forum? I'm just trying to help guide you. I know you don't appreciate it, but that's okay. Here's to you finding your happy place. imageimageimage

I agree. Believe it or not, keyman64, you made a mistake by posting in this forum. If people like STONE did not correct people when this happens, the US Coin forum would be swamped with these messages.

First, I want to thank you for the post here. I don't read the BST forum since I'm not buying, selling or trading coins now. I am interested in coins and I wasn't aware of the existence of this particular grouping of coins. Thanks for adding to my education and causing me to go look for more information on these varieties. If you had posted this in BST I would have missed out on a pleasant few hours searching out information on these.
    Thanks!

We call the Subs in NJ. New Yawkers call them Hero's. But the fact is the real heroes of New Yawk are the men and women of NJ who support that place, without them New Yawk might turn into Boston image

Thanks, now go police the Registry area. It should keep you busy and away from this forum for at least a little while.

Oh, for all of you "Police Chiefs" out there, you do realize that by replying to this thread you just keep bumping it up in front of everyone....don't you? Maybe not? If no one replied to the thread it would just drift off into oblivion. The only reason I seem to be replying to the thread is because of all of the "Police Chiefs".

I look at the BST a few times a week. Why not post it both places? Of course, you won't get as much of a "response" there.

Yup, had a colonoscopy a couple weeks ago and all I remember was someone saying "have a nice nap Tom" . That qualifies for oblivion yes?

    Heh ! Heh !
