I have not re-submitted since PCGS announced their plus grading.

Do you think it will plus because of the color if I did?

    PF-66? Maybe a plus ... a tough call. The rims are hard to read from the photo. Nice coin, nonetheless.

    Beautiful! sure looks cam or dcam. Surface hairlines would be the main determinant for a + or higher numeric grade, wouldn't they?

    Probably a gem proof, with the usual caveats of grading coins in the AU-Unc/Proof range by photos and all that.

    Depends on what its graded now.If PF-64 or below it might get the plus or upgrade. It looks very nice!

    Looks like the OP thinks a plus is equvalent to a "nice for the grade" sticker.

    There is no way to grade a heavily toned proof from a pic. You need to examine a coin like this under a good light so that you can rotate and tilt the coin to detect hairlines which are a grade determining factor for older proofs.

    Perry is correct and if that is haze (which it looks like) that has developed on the mirrors it will not Plus. Amazing coin

    At first glance I would have said the odds were heavily against a plus all things being equal with PCGS's proclivity to downgrade more darkly toned coins. But this one is close enough and it sure does look like a 66. So a 65+ would seem very possible on this one. Some slight hazing should not keep a gem coin like this from a plus. The deeper toning probably keeps it from a 66. There are plenty of gem PF65 trade dollars out there with much deeper surfaces and less life. The odds are <50% just because PCGS likes whiter proofs or those with mind-boggling colors. This has neutral toning imo.....the status of hairlines and mirror depth is probably more important.

    Held in hand there are teriffic contrasting colors on this coin.

    I I do not recall any haze....would have to recheck that.

    Haze will negate other attributes, making a PLUS grade unlikely.
