I'd say this is a slick attempt to exploit other peoples greed.
Note they picture one reverse and it is an '07
Greed will make people think box contains many more but I doubt box is unsealed and unsearched.
Appears retaped and possibly reshipped as to the best of my knowledge these were not shipped by registered mail but by UPS thus the date stamps suggest it was remailed.
I'd say not a chance in hell this box is unopened from may 5th 2008 but what do you guys think??

At $52 a coin that is not too bad a deal. There are a lot of these coins unaccounted for. If I had a spare $5000 I would probably go for it.
<< <i>I have received many boxes from US mint via registered mail. >>
.....................................................................................................................
I also have received registered pacages from mint but generally when gold coins were involved.
I received 1,000 of the ASE in that time period and none came registered.
When purchased in that quantity(lots of 99) I always got free expedited shipping by UPS.
I also note this seller has sold/bought several 2006 20th anniversary silver eagles so I find it hard to believe they are not aware of the 2007/2008 reverses.
If they are aware of the 07/08 then like the frequently discussed Carson City bank rolls they are picturing a reverse of 07 and letting peoples greed do the rest.

As would I.
I see nothing to indicate that the box has been opened and then resealed as all the Post Office Sealing Stamps appear to be intact. It would be easy enough to detect with the box in hand for a return.
BTW, the box of 5 I received also bore that red label for whatever reason.
The name is LEE!

I think I'm more bothered by the fact that they don't mention the possibility of 07/08s being in the box.
Looking at feedback this guy has sold nothing but coins and a lot of 20th Anniversary ASEs to boot.
2 possibilities...................
First he knew nothing about 07/08s................if so by now he has received numerous emails requesting Buy it Now pricing, requests for additional pictures and if there are any honest people left he has received emails explaining 07/08s and wanting to buy those opened 4 ASEs at $300+. If this is the case I'd expect additional descriptions and pictures to soon appear from him.
Second possibility is he knows about 07/08s and knows what is in box and is playing dumb letting peoples greed do the rest.
I think this will get interesting.............They won't sell for $50/coin. ..............I'm betting if auction remains as is it will close in $7-9K range
That would be betting 3-4K+ on a guy who buys ASEs by the hundreds not knowing about 07/08 errors and you getting lucky.
I will mention this..............having gotten numerous boxes of ASEs on and around that date the most 07/08s I pulled from any box of 99 was 15. I actually had a better percentage of 07/08s from the smaller 10-25 coin boxes. My total haul out of 1,000 coins was 150.
I believe another poster on this board from FL area pulled close to 1,000 of the 07/08s.
P.S..................Note Ebay seller has NGC graded 2007 ASEs in lots of 50
Also note he lists a sealed box of "100" of the 2007s.............In my experience the maximum the mint would ship on any single order is 99
